Weather
Please watch the weather channel as late as you can before making your last trip to the boat.

Or look at this web site for fast look.
Satellite - Intellicast - Toledo Area Satellite Image

Patrick will likely be the first person away from the TV and Internet so it would be nice to hear an update at the boat if necessary.

Any one who thinks the weather may be too rough can at any time make an order to turn the boat back to Lost Peninsula or the closest marina of there choice.  Discuss your ideas with Patrick or Gary our Navigator.

Best Food On the island
Make no mistakes about it.  The lobster Rolls at the Boardwalk are too good to be true.  And they hired the soup nazi to make the lobster bisque.  That food is worth all the hardship and expense of the trip.  They have other good food for you non seafood people.  Hope the whole boat party can make it to the boardwalk for a good party lunch Saturday.  If somebody sets this up that would be great.  Click on the picture below so you can find it if you don't know where it is.   A picture is worth a 1000 words.

For those staying at the Log Cabin Inn breakfast will be served there.

General Notes -

If you have a lot of stuff that is for only on the Island you will be able to give it to Donna at Lost Peninsula before the race and it will be delivered to the island for you.   Try to pack light for the boat but dress appropriately.

If you can get your hands on some foul weather gear it would be a good  idea to bring it.   You know that non cotton clothing is best for keeping you warm in damp conditions.

Remember it is always cool on the lake at night early June.   Bring a hat of some kind and a warm jacket.

Bring gloves if you have a pair.  -   It will save your hands.

Its could be a long race so remember 2 things.  Safety First.   2  You need to pace yourself & 3 everybody should take charge because patrick can not monitor all systems for the entire time.   So feel free to experiment with what you would like to early in the race so you learn while it is still light out.

Race day after 3:00 pm if I am not at boat it means I had to pick up last minute items.   If I am not there make your self at home.  Find your life jacket and everything else you are going to need on the boat.  Look the boat over to make sure all fittings and hard ware looks ok ( take nothing for granted )  and you know where all safety equipment is.
